What is Private Coaching Exactly?
Private Coaching is professional one-on-one training between Actor and Coach. Focus is place on whatever specific needs the actor requires but in a more personalized and comprehensive manor than group classes are able to provide. As a result, the overall benefits can be far greater. Privates are generally geared towards specific areas of need, however in a series of consistent sessions, the actor most often receives full rounded training and development.

How it all works
As soon as you come in and meet with me (or if I've already seen some tape on you), I generally know right away where you are with your development and where we'll need to begin. We'll then lay out a plan depending on how much time I'll have with you and how often you'll be coming in to train.
Actor Coaching Packages
In the case of Six-Session Packages (This is generally on the lighter side of serious private coaching)
- We begin with a consultation to get a feel for where you are -- questions, attitude, training and ability.
- We'll also go over your head-shot/resume and any tape if available (if not, it's OK).
- I'll then have you read some copy (audition technique) or perform a monologue.
- I'll look at how you enter the room (in an audition capacity) and I'll work on various empowerment techniques. (My experience has shown me that most all actors need huge assistance here.)
- Once we've dialed in some of the above, we'll then move onto cold reading and deal with all that's brought up during those sessions.
Additional Private Coaching Processes:
- Voice and Diction work
- Presence
- Dynamic
- Poise
- There will be some 'out of studio' homework and memorization assignments
- Then…handling The Call-Back
- Time permitting -- professional on-set etiquette and acting at a professional performance level
With Three-Session Packages, we'd just modify the above and touch on the ladder. Still very effective.
Private coaching is ridiculously effective and students that participate in private's in an on-going capacity have amazing results. However, the actor's personal goals will greatly determine just how each session is conducted.

What Exactly is Headshot Coaching?
Far too often…actors in a rush to get things going, will hastily jump into action proclaiming, "I need (new) pictures!". They then ask around for a 'good photographer', compare some looks and prices and schedule a photoshoot. The date arrives and they head into the shoot with some sort of a vague 'idea' of what they want (or should have) – or, they have no idea at all expecting the photographer to make it all happen for them.Now, it’s great to be proactive about your career, however, unprepared for photoshoots are one of the biggest mistake areas that actors make, again and again and again. They go into their shoot hastily and wind up with anything but the best shots possible. NOT SMART!
